Why the Square Club? We made a family in Bristol!
When I asked Greg and Amber in our photography chat why the chose to have a wedding at The Square Club in Bristol? They replied saying, “we fell in love and made a family together in Bristol.” That family being the close friends and connections that bring daily pleasure to their lives.
A Square Club wedding is all about closeness. It is an intimate venue that provides the backdrop for a wonderful wedding day. A+G wanted something small and personal, with the people they truly love. Their friends; Their Family; Their day ones. I believe that picked the perfect place for their wedding.
A little bit about their wedding at The Square Club, Bristol.
Cigars were lit, and subsequently smoked, as the ladies got ready in the crescent nearby. In walked mum with a vinyl of ‘finally’, a nod to Amber’s dad but also to the fact this marriage was many years in the making. As the guests arrived at the Square Club, fiery socks and all, Greg stood at the end of the aisle and waited for Amber to arrive. Jack & Tee meanwhile filled the room with their delicious sounds!
The ceremony, part English, part Polish, was beautiful and personable occasion before the arms were aloft to rapturous applause. A swift trip outside saw confetti thrown alongside a polish tradition of the bread ceremony. Plates were smashed , drinks drank and then all took their seats for the wedding breakfast.
A trip up Brandon Hill for some wedding portrait photographs
One of the best things about a wedding at the Square Club, is its proximity to Brandon Hill. This beautiful park in the centre of Bristol provides the perfect backdrop for any couple on their wedding day. For the more adventurous a trip up cabot tower could be on the cards. However on this day we opted against it.
I mixed it up with my usual bit of bizarre fun, A trip round the pond provided me with the opportunity to flip it, and a bit of free lensing enabled me to provide a little bit of editorial romance. Amber and Greg were a joy to photograph, thank for getting on board with my misfiring mind. After a few wedding portraits I left them on the hill to share some time together as i headed back to the square club, under the watchful eye of a balloonist.
Throwing wedding shapes on the Square Club dancefloor
The guests were all a few more drinks down and the photobooth was out. I added to the painting for the newlyweds which I hope (yet somehow doubt) is hanging on their wall! The basement of the Square Club became the disco and the shapes were thrown. This couple skipped the usual first dance wedding tradition and got straight onto the partying. As drinks were dropped so did the bodies. The wine was in full flow! Ultimately it was an incredible night and all round incredible wedding at the sqaure club in Bristol
A final word on Amber & Greg, from their Square Club wedding photographer.
The Square club is a beautiful intimate wedding venue in the heart of Bristol. The perfect wedding venue for this incredible duo to get married. This fun filled day was a wedding photographer’s dream, I had a hoot! Congratulations you beauts! It was a joy to watch, and ultimately capture your love and connection. X
