Paul + Lorren // Le Petit Chateau

“Together, we form a necessary paradox; not a senseless contradiction.”  // Criss Jami  //

Paul + Lorren married, then partied the night away at the absolutely beautiful Le Petit Chateau, Otterburn.

People who know me, know of my wish to be living in the South of France, riding my bicycle [with basket] to the patisserie, before a casual stroll through the lavender fields to my chateau! However that dream is not quite a reality [yet] – so for now I shall just appease my french cultural needs by trips to this majestic of venue! It has always been high on my list of venues to shoot, so when these beautiful two enquired I dropped my croissant and had a little boogie!

I met them a while back for a cheeky beverage in their local pub – I find it is always a nice icebreaker – and as I drove back along the a69 I knew this day would be special! By heck! I was right. I’m a huge fan on doing the preparation shots, the room where is was set was full of incredible light sources that I could use creatively. when you take “that” shot, you know the rest of the day will flow perfectly. Paul looked like a right dapper chap as he waited in the Chateau for Lorren, who, in turn, looked incredible as she walked down the aisle dressed in pure elegance! The rest of the day followed with fun laughter and general frolicking! Paul Lytton worked his magic as he entertained the guests whilst they sipped delicious cocktails (apparently). As the sun shone so did the smiles, and maybe a odd tear as the speeches ensued.

It is always nice, as a couple,  to take that little bit of time out of your day to just be together. The portrait time is perfect for this and thats with P+L did as they took a stroll around the grounds and into the wild meadow- albeit as myself and Lou papped them from afar! I cant deny I grew up loving art –  so when the opportunity was bestowed on me to recreate a classic in American Gothic [Grant Wood] I couldn’t refuse, so for being so sporting and entertaining my weirdness I thank you both. As the night kicked, and after a few special moments on the dance floor, the party truly began, as the togs hit the dancefloor the fabulous crowd of (mostly) Geordies joined and partied alongside!

It was the most majestic of days and an absolutely pleasure to be a apart of! I’d also like to thank the ever fabulous Lou (Louise Griffin Photography), for snapping alongside me and generally being a legend of an entertainer!

…and with that I’d like to end by wishing my congratulations once again to the fabulous two! Love GJP.X
