When Jase the Greek met Anna the Suffolker
It all started in twenty twenty, four thumbs frantically tapping letters to and fro amidst the national lockdown. As the restrictions lifted they arranged to meet in Victoria Park in the most romantic of fashions. One rocked up in Levi 501’s whilst the other in a cycling helmet and high viz to enjoy a drink served in plastic glasses. Despite the “disgusting chinos” romance blossomed. With that, a tale of how the beauty from Suffolk met the handsome Greek which lead to their wedding day
An outdoor wedding in the Suffolk countryside
The morning began in an air BnB just north of Ipswich, as Jase with his motley crew were getting suited a booted. Once the shirts were ironed and the shots were sunk, a traditional Greek wedding blessing took place. Meanwhile a few miles away Anna was in a beautiful barn getting prepped for what would be a truly epic wedding day!
Dressed in The Own Studio with a veil from Rebecca Anne Designs, Anna stole the room as she walked past the large windows full of light towards the father of the bride, who was full of emotion. With the additions of the bouquets and shoes, It was time to go and meet her Greek groom down at the church by her family home.
From church to the greek dancing.
The rest of the day flowed seamlessly, a beautiful ceremony was had in the location church in Kenton, before the wedding party ventured through the mini woodland to the reception. A marquee on the grounds of the brides childhood home was the prefect place for such an occasion. A gloriously sunny day was upon as the wedding guests caught up under the cacophony of chinking glass.
A walk through the location fields for some portraits lead to the evening party as the money was pinned, and the greek dancers went in full flow. The feather bowers were out and not even the contact tripping of the power could stop this absolute fiesta from happening.
It is the people of the wedding that make it
I always say that it is the personalities of the bride, groom, family, wedding guests that make for such a diverse range of photography. The more interactions that are happing the more I am able to capture. I don’t love the grab and grin shots but the ones that contain moments of a more inquisitive nature. This wedding contained a plethora of fabulous characters. Travelling from all far flung parts of the world including Suffolk to celebrate with this beautiful Duo!
A final word on Anna + Jason’s moment filled greek hybrid wedding.
I literally cannot say in words enough how brilliant this wedding day was. I always love a wedding on the grounds of a family home. It adds that personable touch to it. Add to that an amazing couple and so many things, from energetic dogs, beautiful details, greek traditions to plenty of awesome moments of madness throughout! A day to remember forever and a highlight of my 2024 calendar. Congrats you beauts, it was a joy to watch, and ultimately capture your love and connection. X
