Storrs Hall Wedding Blog – An intimate wedding with a private lake cruise and wine tasting.
Gilbey + Dora married, then partied the night away at the exquisite Storrs Hall on the banks of Windermere. A beautiful, intimate wedding day that was perfect for these happy go lucky two! Storrs Hall is a wedding venue that is a wedding photographers dream. Its architecturally magnificent and the weddings always have such an intimate feel. It was a delight to head to Storrs hall to photograph the wedding and capture quirky and unique wedding photographs for these beautiful two!
INTRODUCING THE BRIDE, GROOM and their intimate wedding
Gilbey & Dora invited me on board the boat for a coffee a few days before the wedding. We had spoke countless times over electronic mediums but it was nice to actually put a face to name! Oh heaven how beautiful they both are! As the coffee dwindled the excitement grew. The perfect couple set to intimately marry in the perfect wedding venue of Storrs Hall!
The small family weddings are my favourite – after elopements. It’s the personal element and from experience i find them more relaxing to photograph. The morning say me with Dora, as she got ready in her room with her mother and sister. The dress had been tailored by herself and hung gloriously in the summer light. Gilbey meanwhile was sailing into Storrs Hall. I met him on the jetty which apparently is the perfect place to get ready for your wedding day!
LETS TALK ABOUT A SAILING WEDDING ON LAKE WINDERMERE
You never know what the weather is going to be like in the Lake District. Storrs Hall has the perfect pagoda for an outdoor ceremony. Unfortunately shortly before the wedding was due to take place, the heavens opened so the ceremony was moved inside. Gilbey, in full uniform, had the look of a nervous handsome groom. this soon dissipated when Dora came walking down the aisle looking pure perfection. It was a beautiful intimate wedding ceremony. with an after celebratory drink in the library before heading down to the jetty for a private sailing tour of Lake Windermere.
The boat was part of the families, and the same one I was one a few days ago with the fabulous newlyweds. With canopies on board alongside drinks, it was the perfect way to celebrate the wedding day. We stopped in the middle of the Lake to take in some scenery, At which point I could the couple of the bow to take a few mid lake wedding photos. Captain Dora then took the helm to guides us back to the shores of Storrs hall. Then we went of a little wedding portrait tour to capture some of my typical offbeat wedding photography
STORRS HALL WINE TASTING ON YOUR WEDDING DAY!
After Dora & Gilby had walked the ground of Storrs Hall, capturing wedding photographs, we heading inside for the organised wine tasting. Storrs Hall has a sommelier, who took us into the wine cellar and the small party of wedding goes sampled some delicious wine. It was a classic end to the wedding and again to a perfectly intimate family orientated day. At whihc point I left, my first Storrs hall wedding down but a great thirst to go back again.
Congrats to d’Crilleys’ on their incredible marriage and wedding day!! Love GJP! X
