Hidden River Cabins – A wedding photographers dream
Tom + Malavika married, then partied the night away at the incredible Hidden River Cabins – a beautiful venue on the Scottish border, just outside of the lake district! With woodland walks; log cabins; hot tubs and a river meandering through Hidden River Cabins makes the perfect wedding venue for any outdoorsy bride and groom. Plus to top it off your wedding photos will be glorious.

Oh M flipping G! A wedding day turned right hootenanny! Attended a wedding is an often crazy experience. After a matter of hours you go from being almost strangers to close friends. This hidden river cabins wedding was the epitome of that to the point at which I can’t recall photographing a wedding where I left feeling so loved and adored. It might have been the delicious cupcakes, one in each hand as I left after having a swift beer to celebrate with the guests. Everyone was amazing and trilby’s off to M+T, what a crazy duo. Tom is a right kangaroo of a man! Have you ever seen a human bounce like that?
Some times at weddings I have to encourage the zany however sometimes it just happens so you embrace and roll with it. Malavika strolled up to the cabin wearing her leather jacket when the lightbulb came on. “right, that’s coming with us” but then came the red wellies! boom! mind blown!
The Beautiful contrast of love in a derelict space.
When you go to a wedding venue, as a photographer there are often a plethora of beauty locations to take wedding photos. Hidden River Cabins is awash with them. Sometimes however Its nice to find something a bit more out of the conventional ordinary. With this is mind, the discovery of a ‘building site’ of a barn bought instant joy to my heart and set the creative juices flowing. The contrast of derelict to that of wedding beauty is ticks the mind. I love the tones and textures within this ‘urban scene’ and that glorious golden hour light was just epic!
This day was an all round relaxed and intimate affair. My favourite kind! There were no real formalities- ceremony and speeches aside. A beautiful wedding day celebrated with those nearest and dearest! Hidden River cabins created the perfect tranquility for a wedding before the festivities of India, where the couple would further celebrate their marriage
