“Together, we form a necessary paradox; not a senseless contradiction.”  // Criss Jami  //

Paul + Lorren married, then partied the night away at the absolutely beautiful Le Petit Chateau – a wedding photography dream!

People who know me, know of my wish to be living in the South of France. Riding my bicycle [with basket] to the patisserie, before a casual stroll through the lavender fields to my petit chateau! However that dream is not [yet] a reality.  For now I shall just appease my french cultural needs with trips to this majestic wedding venue – Le Petit Chateau! It has always been high on my list of venues to photograph, so when these beautiful two enquired I dropped my croissant and had a little boogie!

Allo Allo! Meet Le Petit Chateaus Bride and Groom

I met them a while back for a cheeky beverage in their local pub. The perfect icebreaker. As I drove back along the a69 I knew this day would be special! By heck! I was right. The preparation shots are my favourite. Let petit chateau is full of interesting lighting. The room where Lorren was transformed by the incredible wedding hair and make up team was full of incredible these light sources which I used creatively. When you take that first winning shot, as a photographer, you know the rest of the day will flow perfectly.

Paul looked like a right dapper chap as he waited in the Petit Chateau wedding chapel for Lorren. The room went silent, eyes to the back. Lorren looked incredible as she walked down the aisle dressed in pure elegance! The dress was the most incredible I have seen – with a train to envy anyone. At the alter it was plain to see the love these two shared.

The rest of the day followed with fun laughter and general frolicking! Paul Lytton worked his magic as he entertained the guests whilst they sipped delicious cocktails. The sun shone and so did the smiles. Champagne in flutes clinking to the rupture of laughter and tears. The speeches were in full flow.

When my love of art intertwines into my wedding photography

It is always nice, as a couple,  to take that little bit of time out of your day to just be together. Couples portrait photography time is perfect for this. The newlyweds took a stroll around the grounds and into the wild meadow- albeit as myself and Lou papped them from afar! Lou was prominent with her freelensing photograph technique, whilst I worked the awkward photographic portraits.

I cant deny I grew up loving art –  Early in the day I spotted a pitchfork as i strolled around the vegetable patch. The opportunity bestowed – It as time to recreate a classic in [Grant Wood] American Gothic. Oh boy did they rock it to perfection – so for being such sporting legends and entertaining my weirdness, I would like to thank the brie and groom. As the night kicked, and after a few special dances on the dance floor admist the dry ice, the party truly began. Two photographers hit the dancefloor – tearing up the place with our skills as the fabulous crowd of (mostly) Geordies joined and partied alongside!

It was the most majestic of days and an absolutely pleasure to be apart of! I’d also like to thank the ever fabulous Lou, for snapping alongside me and generally being a legend of an entertainer!

…and with that I’d like to end by wishing my congratulations once again to the fabulous two! Love GJP.X
